The Cultโs 8424 tour kicked off their Canadian leg of the tour with Torontoโs History being their second stop, Bringing Culture Wars along for the ride!
Culture Wars started the night off, as the lights dimmed the groovy riff of โit hurtsโ could be heard before quickly bursting into the energetic track! They followed up with their newest single โWasting my timeโ which has really unique elements in the instrumental and an intoxicating chorus that listening to will not be a waste of your time.
Later on in the set they treated us to a performance of their upcoming single โMileyโ which comes out September 12th and is the 4th single off of their soon to be debut album! The band then closed the show with their fan favorite tracks โLiesโ & โHeavenโ.
The anticipation for The Cult to walk out on stage instantly grew, as the smoke flooded the stage and the lights went dim. The crowd started to roar of excitement and The Cult came to make a statement! Starting the show off with their instant headbanger of a track โIn the cloudsโ Following up with โRiseโ & โWildflowerโ the fans were transported back in time to the 80s & 90s, and despite celebrating their 40th anniversary on this tour, they sounded as great as ever! You couldn’t help but overhear others complimenting how amazing the 17 song performance sounded.
Half way through the set they slowed the room down with an acoustic rendition of โEdieโ. As soon as the last chord struck they cranked the volume back up with โLuciferโ, โFire Womenโ, and many more of their biggest tracks before finishing with โLove removal machineโ.
The band exited but the crowd certainly didnโt, they wanted more! Despite the set being over and front-man Ian Astbury having the flu, they granted the crowd their wishes and gave an amazing encore with tracks โBrother Wolf, Sister Moonโ and their most popular track to date โShe sells sanctuaryโ
