At Arizona Financial Theatre in Phoenix, LANY delivered a night that felt equal parts electric and intimate, blending high-energy performance with the kind of emotional pull that sticks with you long after the last song ends. Going into the show, I had never seen LANY live before, so I wasnโ€™t entirely sure what to expect. What I got was something that felt bigger than just a concert.

A female singer passionately performing on stage with a microphone, surrounded by a blurred, energetic crowd in a vibrant, colorful lighting atmosphere.

Opening the night was ELIO, who immediately set the tone with an infectious level of energy. From the moment she stepped on stage, she commanded attention. There was something instantly familiar about her, especially in her lyricism, which carried a storytelling quality reminiscent of Taylor Swift. Tracks like โ€œAdderall,โ€ โ€œI Got The Boy,โ€ and โ€œAlready Goneโ€ showcased both her vocal strength and her ability to connect with the audience.

Her set also carried a sonic edge that felt inspired by The 1975, particularly in the guitar work that added texture and depth to her sound. It gave her performance a dynamic range that kept things interesting from start to finish. By the end of her set, the crowd was fully engaged, and it was clear she had won over a room that may not have known her walking in.

When LANY took the stage, the atmosphere shifted instantly. Frontman Paul Klein opened the show with โ€œSoft,โ€ standing silhouetted in red light. It was a simple but striking visual that immediately pulled everyone in. From there, the energy surged as they moved into โ€œWhyโ€ and โ€œMake Me Forget,โ€ with both the band and the crowd feeding off each other in a way that felt effortless.

What stood out most throughout the night was Paulโ€™s presence. He didnโ€™t just perform the songs, he lived in them. Whether he was moving across the stage or locking into a moment with the crowd, there was a constant sense of connection that made the entire room feel involved. That connection hit a peak during one of the most memorable moments of the night, when Paul asked the guys in the pit to put their partners on their shoulders. Suddenly, there was a sea of girls dancing at near eye level with him, creating a surreal and almost cinematic moment that felt completely unique.

LANYโ€™s music carries a softness to it, but it never feels small. Instead, it fills the space in a way that feels expansive and emotional. Watching them perform, it was hard not to get pulled into that feeling. At times, it felt like being on a late-night drive with the windows down, watching the sunset fade into night while your favorite songs play in the background. Thereโ€™s a nostalgia to their sound that hits in a very specific, very personal way.

From a performance standpoint, they were incredibly tight. The vocals were clean, the instrumentation was polished, and everything felt intentional without losing that sense of spontaneity that makes live music special. Itโ€™s the kind of show that reminds you why people fall in love with live performances in the first place.

If youโ€™ve never seen LANY live or even explored their music, this is the kind of show that changes that. Itโ€™s more than just a setlist of songs. Itโ€™s an experience that leans into emotion, connection, and atmosphere in a way that feels genuine.

On the drive home, itโ€™s hard not to think about tracks like โ€œSound of Rainโ€ and the feeling they leave behind. LANY has a way of tapping into something deeply romantic, the kind of energy that makes you want to roll the windows down, turn the volume up, and maybe even stop to buy someone flowers. Whether itโ€™s for a partner or even a stranger, their music carries a reminder to lean into those moment
