The Idobi Summer School Tour rocked Denver, Colorado with a 6 band line up- the whole show very reminiscent of Vanโs Warped Tour.
Letdown started out the night with their set, opening with their single, โKarmaโ getting the crowd pumped up and ready for the night. They played a good mix of singles, and had the whole crowd cheering as they played โCrying in The Showerโ off their 2023 album of the same name.
Honey Revenge took the stage next, pumping up the crowd with their Alt-pop Rock sound. Tons of fans were jumping at the barricade, shouting along to their songs. Honey Revenge closed out their set with โAirheadโ, a song thatโs been stuck in my head ever since. The whole venue was full of shouts as everyone sang along.
Next up- Stand Atlantic, or โSTATโ which lit up on the boards on the sides of the stage. In the thickest Aussie accent youโll ever hear, they welcomed the crowd. They opened with โWARZ0NEโ, a single of theirs that just came out this February. They brought the heat, their stage presence off the charts- enough for guitarist David Potter to completely lose control of his guitar as it crashed into the drum kit. Vocalist Bonnie Fraser entertained the crowd through their technical difficulties judging everyoneโs choice in breakfast.ย STAT got through the rest of their set without a hitch, closing out with โdeathwishโ, a song that came out in 2022 off their album โf.e.a.r.โ the whole crowd singing along.
When The Home Team came out for the set they decided to make things a littleโฆ interesting- taking the stage in inflatable elephant costumes. After a good laugh from the crowd they ditched the outfits and opened with โBragโ, a single they just put out this January. It seemed like every single person in the crowd was a THT fanโฆ and for good reason, their set was incredible. Towards the end of their set, Brian Butcher, the bandโs vocalist explained that the next song- โRoommatesโ was about being roommates with yourself, which I think has a much deeper meaning if you listen to the lyrics of the song.ย
Second to last, Magnolia Park came out opening their set with โMisfitsโ, a song off their 2022 album โBakuโs Revengeโ. The bandโs whole set was full of so much energy, and was super interactive with the crowd. Full of silly references and bits in between songs, they put on a great show.
And last, but most certainly not least, Scene Queen took the stage. Before she even made it on, the crowd was shouting, hyped for her to come on. Opening with โPink Push-up Braโ the fourth song on her new album โHot Singles In Your Areaโ and also a single she released back in September of 2023, the crowd was instantly screaming along. After the first song she explained to the crowd both her motto and a line that would come up on the screen behind her that she believes, โthe world needs less band dudesโ, a common theme in her music. Midway through her set, before playing an emotional, and one of the few slower songs in her discography, โClimaxโ- Hannah welcomed two members of the crowd into the middle of the pit, and helped coordinate a proposal! And then immediately after played โBarbie & Kenโ, a huge shift in sound and vibe- that she apologized for.ย
Ending her set with โPink Roverโ a song about taking revenge on men who cat-call, the crowd raved along then cheered for an encore.
