Maynard James Keenan, the legendary vocalist of Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer, is throwing himself a massive 60th birthday celebration. The tour called “Sessanta”, will feature two of his bands – A perfect Circle and Puscifer, as well as special guests, Primus. The tour will be making a stop at the Wang Theatre on April 2nd and 3rd. “Sessanta” is a one-of-a-kind celebration of Maynard James Keenan’s 60th birthday. The name “Sessanta” itself means “sixty” in Italian, reflecting the significance of this milestone. The tour features performances by Maynard James Keenan’s bands, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer – alongside special guests Primus.

The tour will be an epic celebration of Keenan’s illustrious career, with collaborative performances and a musical journey through his diverse body of work. It promises to be a unique experience, with all three bands sharing the stage simultaneously for certain parts of the show. This format was first tried during Keenan’s 50th birthday celebration in 2014, and was a huge success. The “Sessanta” tour looks to build upon this, creating a truly immersive and collaborative musical event.

Puscifer – Puscifer is Keenan’s solo project, which he started in 2003. The band’s music is often described as experimental, with elements of trip hop, ambient, and industrial music. Puscifer has released four studio albums, with their sound varying significantly from album to album.

A Perfect Circle – Established in 1999, A Perfect Circle blends elements of alternative rock, art rock, and post-grunge. Keenan formed the band with Billy Howerdel, a former guitar technician for Tool. They have released four studio albums, each showcasing the band’s evolving sound.

Primus – is an American rock band formed in 1984 in El Sobrante, California. The band was founded by bassist and vocalist Les Claypool, who remains the primary songwriter and leader of the group. Primus is known for their unique style, which blends elements of funk, metal, and alternative rock. Claypool’s distinctive bass playing, coupled with the band’s experimental and often humorous lyrics, has earned them a dedicated following and critical acclaim. They have released nine studio albums during their music career.

The “Sessanta” tour will be stopping in Boston for two nights, April 2nd and 3rd, at the Wang Theatre. It’s sure to be a fantastic celebration of Keenan’s music! Don’t get left out!
