Post Malone’s Tour with 21 Savage made a stop at the Xfinity Center for a sold out night. Malone rised to fame with his debut album Stony, recently winning his first ever award at the Billboard Music Awards for Best Rap Song, Rockstar. Malone is currently touring to support his new album, Beer Bongs & Bentleys– an album that has already made huge success, beating the Beatles record for the most songs on the top-100 Billboard Music chart with 9, a record the band has held since 1964.

Young crowds traveling for miles to the venue coupled with holiday weekend traffic, resulted in nightmare traffic and prevented me from getting to the venue on time. I eventually made it to the photographers room around 8:50pm, missing the nights opening acts, including 21 Savage. I was bummed, but hope to catch them again in the near future.

The lights went out around at 9:25pm, as the loud speakers filled the venue with heavy bass sounds. A white curtain covering the stage finally came down and Malone made his entrance as the crowd greeted him with loud cheers. He immediately took control of the stage. I will admit, I was not familiar with much of his music…but it was clear the majority of the crowd were super fans, knowing every lyric to every song. They had their hands up, sang, and swayed through the entire show. Every song felt like a hit.

He went on to his encore, performing the hit song Rockstar and ending the song with his signature guitar smashing. He closed the show with a story of his catapult to fame and a message to his fans- ‘To do whatever the fuck you want, because you are the shit and no one can tell you what to do!’ which led to his final song, Congratulations.

Post Malone gave his fans quite an amazing night, displaying all of the reasons why he is more than deserving of his current success. I was most impressed with his versatility as an artist, and his vocal range, something I had not noticed before. After the night’s performance, he definitely gave me a reason to be a fan.

Don’t miss Post Malone on tour when he comes to a city near you!
