October 14, 2025 at the Hollywood Palladium delivered a night of purpose and precision. Lorna Shore showed exactly why they are one of the most musically skilled bands to emerge in recent years. From “Oblivion” through to the Pain Remains trilogy encore, the band moved beyond brutal noise to something controlled and unmistakably deliberate.

The setlist drew heavily from I Feel the Everblack Festering Within Me, opening with “Unbreakable” and “Of the Abyss” before working in “Sun//Eater,” “Cursed to Die,” “Into the Earth,” “Glenwood” and “Prison of Flesh.” They closed the main set with “To the Hellfire,” then returned for a three-song encore: “Pain Remains I: Dancing Like Flames,” “Pain Remains II: After All I’ve Done, I’ll Disappear,” and “Pain Remains III: In a Sea of Fire.”

The evening kicked off with strong support from Shadow of Intent and The Black Dahlia Murder. Shadow of Intent brought technical mastery and symphonic depth that prepared the room for what was coming. The Black Dahlia Murder followed with veteran intensity and wild precision.

Back on stage, Lorna Shore operated with a level of musical interplay rarely seen in death-core. Vocalist Will Ramos transitioned between guttural lows and operatic highs with clarity and control, never near buckling. The guitars, bass and drums locked into rhythms and lead runs with such tightness that what might’ve come off as chaotic instead felt rigorous. From soaring melodic lines to blast-beat attacks, the band demonstrated versatility and compositional intent.

Production complemented the performance rather than overshadowed it. The Palladium’s acoustics allowed for true separation of instruments without softening the impact. The sound mix surfaced razor-sharp guitar lines alongside thunderous drums and low-end weight. Lighting and atmospheric effects were used judiciously to enhance mood without becoming a distraction.

By the end of the night, it was clear that Lorna Shore have outgrown the expectations that once defined them. Their performance wasn’t about spectacle or shock value; it was about precision, balance, and intent. Every section of the set felt calculated yet alive, the kind of control that only comes from complete trust between musicians.

They played like a band fully aware of their power and willing to use every ounce of it. Walking out of the Palladium, one thought lingered, the same question echoed in “Glenwood”: can we go back? Because after a show like that, everyone in the room wished they could.
