After a successful reunion tour that began last year, Grammy awards winners, Creed, brought their Summer of โ€˜99 tour back – this time to New Hampshire’s SNHU Arena. The band has been on tour with back to back sold out shows in various cities. This time they brought with them Daughtry and Mammoth. It was an incredible night of music that had fans singing and cheering from start to finish.

The atmosphere was charged with full energy when I arrived. Fans were representing their favorite bands with a sea of band t-shirts. Drinks were being poured as fans were finding their seats. There was a certain vibe here tonight, a special feeling that would carry on for the rest of the night.

The crowd showed their anticipation when the lights started to dim. On stage it would be no other than the son of legendary Eddie Van Halen to kick things off. Mammoth WVH is a rock band founded and fronted by Wolfgang Van Halen. This, like many other, would be my first time seeing them live. I personally was excited for their performance.

The moment Mammoth WVH hit the stage, you knew you were in for something special. Their powerful performance showcased Wolfgang’s undeniable talent and dedication to his craft. Not only were his guitar skill impressive, but also his remarkable vocal ability. I will say, I felt nostalgic hearing the great one in him when he played the guitar. It’s clear that he’s carving out his own path and living up to the Van Halen legacy in the process. I’m excited to see more of his musical journey.

Next on the bill would be Daughtry. It has been almost 20 years since Chris Daughtry became a finalist on the 5th season of a American Idol and became as household name. Since, he has grown to be one of the top rock bands in the past decade. He was here to prove that he’s a force to be reckoned with.

Daughtry opened with ‘The Reckoning‘, ‘The Day After‘ and his kick-ass cover of the Journey classic, ‘Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)‘. Although his set was full of pure rock energy, the highlights for me were hearing the ballads ‘It’s Not Over‘ and ‘Over You‘. They have become favorites of mine from his catalog. Another favorite was his performance of his hit ‘Home‘. Chris asked the crowd to take out their phones to light up the venue. They easily obliged and the entire SNHU Arena lit up as the sing along continued. The performance of the song gave many goosebumps, including me.

They would go on to close with, ‘Artificial‘. Daughtry delivered a powerful performance that showcased his commanding vocals and charismatic stage presence. For many, this was our first time experiencing the energy of a live Daughtry show, and we were not disappointed.

It was now the time for us to be reunited with one of our favorite bands of the 2000’s. For me, it had been over 20 years since I saw them back in 2002. It was at the Fleet Center – the old Boston Gahden. I’ve been waiting that long to catch them again so when I heard they were bringing back their Summer ’99 tour, I knew I had to be here. I couldn’t miss it this time around.

We would get escorted to the press pit for the last time tonight. It was finally time for Creed to take the stage. You could feel the anticipation from the crowd for the start of their set and when the guys hit the stage they were greeted with loud cheers. Like the bands ritual, they opened with ‘Bullets‘ followed by ‘Ode‘, ‘Torn‘ and ‘Are You Ready.’ The band members showcased their incredible musicianship and passion for performing. They set the tone for an unforgettable evening.

Creed embarked into an ocean of hits from their catalog. One after the other, delivering solid performances of their timeless classics. About mid way when the band took us into one of my favorites, ‘My Own Prison‘, the crowd lit up the entire venue with their phones. Everyone was singing along, the powerful song bringing us beautifully together. I have always loved this song. I was amazed seeing Mark Tremonti and Scott Stapp singing together again. What a magical moment.

Before taking us into another one, Mark took the mic once again. He said “in theme of supporting local businesses, he stopped by the Manchester Music Mill and picked up a guitar”. He then announced he would like to give it away to someone to “support a new rockstar in the making’s career”. Mark proclaimed, “I will pick the rowdiest-fan in the venue during our next song. Let me see you Manchester!” as the band took us into ‘What If‘.

At first, this didn’t sound like a great idea. People always go crazy for free things, especially t for a signed guitar by Creed. But the crowd was surprisingly super chill other than a few people trying to get on each others shoulders. Thankfully they were no issues. Everyone in attendance was just having fun.

To the right of the stage was a young girl. As she was head banging, jumping, and just going nuts, myself and others around started to point at her in hopes Mark would see her – and he did! At the end of the song , he pointed to her, announcing she was the winner. Security brought her up on stage to meet them. What a special moment for her, one that she’ll never forget. I didn’t get her name, but if someone sees this, tag her in the comments below!

From that point on, the venue reached a new high. The entire venue sang together in harmony. As the band closed their set with ‘What’s This Life For‘, ‘With Arms Wide Open‘, and ‘Higher.’Each song inciting the Manchester crowd making them erupt in loud cheers after each performance.

The band exited the stage and the lights went off. Chants for more began as the crowd called out “CREED” for an encore. It wasn’t long before they would come back on stage to close the night with their two classics, ‘One Last Breath‘ and ‘My Sacrifice.’

The highlight of the night came during the encore as the crowd sang along at the top of their lungs. It was a heartwarming demonstration of the deep connection. The band members were all smiles, clearly feeding off the energy of the crowd and in appreciation for the love and support from their loyal fans.

Creed delivered an electrifying show at SNHU Arena that showcased their incredible talent, passion, and dedication to their fans. Their ability to connect with the audience through their music and stage presence made for an unforgettable night – one that myself, and everyone in attendance will never forget.
