Poppyโs Never Find My Place tour hit the Worcester Palladium in Massachusetts. She brought with her Mz. Neon as an opener, for a fun night of music.
The Misfits, the Goths with tutus and leather tops, the broken and misunderstood – Poppyseeds, the term used by Poppy to describe her fans. The room was filled with Poppyseeds waiting patiently for their queen to take the stage.
Opening the night was Mz. Neon. She has a Nu-metal industrial sound, matched with sexually explicit lyrics that are incredibly catchy. So much so that I have found myself playing โCop Fuckerโ and โPussy Stickโ on repeat. Iโm glad I was introduced to her music and had the opportunity to see her live. I only wish I got some video of her performance. Definitely check her out! Soon after Mz. Neonโs set, the crowd began chanting for Poppy. When the lights finally went out, screams filled the room. The Church of Poppy was about to be in session.
Poppy graced the stage and opened with โLessen The Damageโ, – one of my favorites and followed with โXโ. She was fierce from the start. Other songs from her performance that stuck out to me were, โBLOODMONEYโ, โConcreteโ, โFluxโ, โNever Find My Placeโ, and a t.U.T.u. cover of, โAll the Things She Saidโ.
She asked the crowd to give it everything they had one last time, as she closed with another favorite, โI Disagreeโ, followed by โBite Your Teethโ. Even though tonight wasnโt sold out like some of her previous shows, the Poppyseeds at the Palladium sure made it feel like it was.
With a voice that can melt hearts and screams that can wake a sleeping beast, Poppy is a top-notch artist.
HAIL TO POPPY AND HER POPPYSEEDS!
What a beautiful night it had been in Worcester!
