Heavy metal outfit Black Veil Brides brought their Vindica tour to New York City on May 28, 2026 at the Palladium Times Square, and have already announced a second leg later this summer.

As December Falls took the stage an hour after doors to warm the crowd up for what would become a four-hour concert experience. Lead vocalist Bethany Hunter Jiminèz announced that this tour was the band’s first time performing in America, and there is no doubt that they’ll be back. Complete with high kicks and a Paramore-adjacent edge, the crowd surfing began not even an hour into the show. Jiminèz shared the stage with guitarist Ande Hunter Jiminèz, guitarist Timmy Francis, and drummer Christian Zawacki, all of whom brought fiery energy.

Fronted by Timothy Thomas, TX2 began as a solo project in Colorado and took wind in the emo scene. Joined by Cameron Rostami on guitar, Courtney Howard on bass, and Ethan Church on drums; their look alone helped solidify a memorable performance; androgynous goth. TX2 encompassed what it means to put on a show rather than play a concert; a shirtless drummer who could not stop throwing his sticks, undeniable chemistry between Thomas and Church, and bass solos that extended into backbends. Truly the cherry on top was Thomas waving a pride flag around before announcing that he wanted to start a mosh pit, so he did.

Rap-metal band From Ashes to New has undergone a tumultuous cycle of solidifying a core group, but their look drew the attention of the entire barricade. Beginning their set in classic rockstar fashion, bassist Jimmy Bennett came out with drummer Mat Madiro to hype the crowd up for guitarist Lance Dowdle and lead vocalist Danny Case. Once Matt Brandyberry began to rap from the wings of the stage, what once was a heavy metal machine of a pit quickly pivoted to collective frat-flicking. The band was not afraid to teeter the edge of the stage, lifted by a stage-trap of sorts that spewed towers of smoke on beat with their coordinated jumps. At one point, their set went dark, and Dowdle swapped masks for a more purge-like appearance, and the crowd went wild.

Anxiously awaiting the gothic princes that are Black Veil Brides, the crowd unanimously chanted for them, increasing their volume as the security guards egged them on to scream louder. The lights went out, the screams intensified, and the only discernable thing that could be heard was Bach Toccata in D minor, more commonly known as the creepy Halloween organ riff.

The candelabras on stage that were previously considered interesting set pieces finally made sense, and lead guitarist Jake Pitts emerged from the shadows on one side while rhythm guitarist Jeremy “Jinxx” Miles Ferguson commanded the other, leaving Christian “CC” Coma shrouded in darkness behind the drum kit. Introducing Knives and Pens, bassist Lonny Eagleton and frontman Andy Biersack dove headfirst into the song.

The revolving door of crowd surfing didn’t hesitate for a moment. As soon as someone was pulled out, two more people were in the air. Biersack’s charisma entertained fans between every song, calling out someone’s hand-stitched t-shirt from the band’s beginning days back in 2009. While only five songs off of Vindicate made the setlist, once Biersack announced that they’d only be playing old hits, two separate mosh pits joined forces and went at each other non-stop.

Despite their almost decade long run, these musicians truly give each performance their all. It is amazing how the entire front row was sprayed with drops of sweat and not once did the instrumentalists stop to breathe. Biersack, on the other hand, periodically let solos run on to care for his extremely consistent and impressive harsh vocals, all while running around the stage. Biersack’s partner, Lilith Czar, was brought out to sing Sweet Blasphemy, accompanied by Jinxx’s violin.

BlThere’s an assumption that heavy metal fans are all goth teenagers, but the community in what Black Veil Brides call “The Outcasts” are all a bunch of softies deep down. Fathers accompanied their children; the ADA section was completely full, everyone truly came together to enjoy what is considered harsh music in the most special way.
