Formed back in 1997 and still rocking hard and selling out arenas, Three Days Grace has never looked better.

Two musicians performing on stage, one playing a keyboard and the other singing into a microphone, with a neon sign in the background.

The show started with The Funeral Portrait – who formed in 2014. Their sound is a mix of rock and hardcore. They are very energetic on stage and love interacting with the sold-out crowd at Allstate Arena. A few songs that stood out to me were “Generation Psycho” and “Blood Mother.” I definitely recommend checking them out.

The second opener was I Prevail, who are no strangers when it comes to bringing the house down. Even with Brian Burkheiser, who is no longer being with the band. There were a mix of comments and emotions about this new chapter of I Prevail. They did drop a new album last year titled “Violent Nature” – a pretty solid record. When it came to their performance, they did not disappoint. They still came out as energetic as ever and always made sure there was a pit in the crowd.

The night ended with the legends themselves, Three Days Grace. They made sure the crowd got a little bit of everything from their discography. They delivered a powerful set that reminded everyone why they’ve remained one of rock’s most consistent bands for decades. Both Adam Gontier and Matt Walst absolutely killed it on stage, and hearing their voices together live was something special. Their chemistry and energy amplified every song. The crowd was engaged from start to finish. The chemistry from the band didn’t feel off or anything forced. They genuinely seemed to enjoy themselves on stage. This was clear from their interactions with the bandmates and their performance.

The best moment of the night for me came when the lights suddenly went dark. For a brief second, the arena fell into anticipation. The spotlight then hit the center of the stage. It revealed Brad Walst standing there with a huge smile on his face, bass in hand. Without saying a word, he launched into one of the most recognizable opening riffs in modern rock. When the crowd realized it was the opening of “Animal I Have Become,” they erupted with screams and cheers. It’s the type of riff that everybody knows. You don’t even have to be a fan of the band. Once you hear that riff, it just gets you going.

That riff alone was enough to send chills through the crowd. This song has always been one of my go-to songs to play at the gym. It’s that type of track that makes you feel unstoppable, like you can conquer anything in front of you. Hearing thousands of fans scream the chorus together live was an unforgettable moment. The energy inside the arena was unreal.

What stood out the most was the connection between the band and the audience. The crowd fed off the band’s energy, and the band felt that energy off the crowd. It created a constant wave of excitement that never slowed down. I’ve been to a lot of concerts. It’s rare to see a crowd with that level of intensity and passion from start to finish. When it comes to three days grace, that’s what the band and their music shows. You can feel their emotions and their frustrations with their songs.

If this show proved anything, it’s that Three Days Grace is still firing on all cylinders. After all these years, they continue to deliver powerful performances and connect with fans both old and new. One thing’s for sure. The future is still bright for the band. Their momentum is not slowing down.
