The Aragon Ballroom was packed wall-to-wall on March 25th as metal fans gathered for a night of relentless energy headlined by Lamb of God. With a stacked lineup featuring Sanguisugabogg, Fit for an Autopsy, and Kublai Khan TX, the night was destined to be chaotic in the best way possible.
The night started strong with Sanguisugabogg – a deathcore band that had the crowd headbanging like there was no tomorrow. Their crushing riffs and relentless double bass created an atmosphere that instantly ignited the pit. From the moment they hit the stage, it was clear their mission was to wake the crowd upโand they delivered. Their raw, aggressive sound made it impossible to stand still, setting the tone for the rest of the night.

Next was Fit for an Autopsy, who brought a powerful performance. Their set was not only heavy but also incredibly dynamic, blending brutal breakdowns with atmospheric melodies like when they were singing hostage one of my favorite songs of the band. The bandโs energy was undeniableโeach member headbanging while performing, feeding off the crowdโs intensity. pulling the audience in while still keeping the pit alive and moving.

Following them, Kublai Khan TX took the stage and completely shifted the energy into overdrive. Their hardcore style hit like a punch to the chestโfast, aggressive, and unapologetically raw. The crowd erupted instantly, with constant crowd movement, two-stepping, crowd surfing to the absolute max and explosive mosh pits breaking out across the floor. The crowds were singing right back at the band in some of the songs on their setlist, especially the fan favorite theory of mind. Their commanding stage presence and hardcore delivery made their set one of the most intense moments of the night.
By the time Lamb of God hit the stage, the Aragon was already on fireโbut they took it to a whole different level. The band came out roaring the first song they performed was “Ruin;” the entire venue exploded. The lighting, the sound, the presenceโit all came together perfectly. The crowd was nonstop: circle pits, crowd surfers, wall-to-wall movement. You could feel every riff and every drum hit you like a truck.

Lamb of God didnโt just performโthey owned the night. Tight, powerful, and full of energy, they reminded everyone exactly why theyโve been at the top of metal for so long. No wasted moments, no drop in intensityโjust hit after hit their setlist was perfect a mixture of their old songs to their newer songs from there new album like into oblivion, sepsis, parasocial Christ and yes of course they performed laid to rest. I am not even joking once that riff started, I felt like the barricades weren’t going to be enough to hold the fans down.
By the end of the show, one thing was clear – this wasnโt just another concert. It was one of those nights you feel lucky to be part of even lead singer Randy Blythe had to take a moment and let the crowd know that Chicago is his favorite city to perform to it holds a special place. Chicago showed up, the bands delivered, and the Aragon Ballroom turned into absolute chaosโin the best way possible!
