The 20 Years Of Tears tour – celebrates the emo and post-hardcore genres that emerged in the early 2000s, and it’s headlined by none other than Hawthorne Heights! The tour also features a stellar lineup of supporting acts, including Thursday, Saosin, Anberlin, I See Stars, Cartel, Armor for Sleep, Stick To Your Guns, Emery, and This Wild Life.
This is what JT Woodruff (Hawthorne Heights vocalist and the architect behind the tour) had to say about the tour –
“20 Years of Tears is a celebration of the genre that raised an entire generation, with basement-born bands to stadium headliners. Emo comes in all shapes and sizes and has touched the hearts and minds of people from all walks of life. With some of the biggest names of the MySpace Generation, this lineup is designed to give you the energy you had while feeling so misunderstood, as a ‘misguided’ youth. This is not just a summer concert, it is a must-see event that can reignite the fire inside all of us as we sing and scream together like it’s 2004.”
Hawthorne Heights will be performing their iconic debut album, ‘The Silence in Black and White,’ in full during the tour to commemorate its 20th anniversary. The album holds a special place in their heart as it marks their debut studio album, originally released on June 1, 2004. Produced by Sean O’Keefe, the album’s title was inspired by a line in the song “Niki FM.” Over the years, the album has gained a reputation as an emo classic, and its impact on Hawthorne Heights’ career is undeniable. In fact, the album has sold over eight hundred thousand copies in the United States alone, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
